Quote from NSX_FReeDoM :I thought it's free! Ferrari sure knows how to rip people off. 10 euro for just one track and one car?! no thanks.

Oh stop it. It's hardly ripping people off.

It's cheaper than a car and track for iRacing. Laser scanning tracks costs a lot of money. Get used to it. It's the way sim racing is going.

It costs less than 4 pints of beer..now that is ripping people off, yet you probably wouldn't think twice about paying for that.

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :You think Spa will be around that soon?? I was resigned to the fact that I wouldn't see it till 2011.

Not sure, but I just have the feeling that they will both be released around the same time. We know they are building it already. I cant see it taking them 3 months to build a track these days with all their experience.

It would be criminal to have an F1 season without Spa

Fingers crossed

Quote from Wilko868 :Is there any idea on when the Williams will actually be released?

Season 4

(11 weeks ..ish)

(And I bet Spa comes at the same time )

Strangely there are a huge amount of Italians that race netKar PRO. I bet the percentage of Italian drivers in nKPro is nearer to 15-20% of the community

Quote from richard dk : and i`m happy that there is a forum without too much trolling..

Come off it... that place is full of more trolling, moaning and complete nonsense than the LFS forums!

I love iRacing, but the forums are an unmoderated hellhole.

Quote from birder :However iRacing could certainly learn a lot from LFS in how simple it is to race multicar with who you want.

One of the biggest things in motor racing is trying to beat your team mates and this is 100% missing in iRacing.

Surely that's what hosted sessions are for?

It's so simple to have an evenings racing with your mates driving what you want, where you want.

Am I missing something?

Quote from jasonmatthews :I tried iracing for a year. It cost me £300. I played it for 4 months. The rest of the time I was absolutley robbed, rip off bastards.....

How were you robbed? I must me missing something here as well.

No one forced you to spend £300. You must have been nuts to spend all that before you even knew if it was the sim for you and whether you'd be in for the long run or not.

My advice to anyone wishing to try it out is go with a 3 month sub initially. If after a few weeks you think it's your cup of tea then purchase the Mustang or Skippy depending on what sort of cars you like and get a couple of tracks for those series (remember, there's no need to buy all the tracks, you only have to do 8 weeks out of the 12 for a season) Don't rush to get up the licence levels. Pick a car and learn it well, get to know the system and just stick with that for your first 3 months.

After that you'll be in a much better position to know if it's the sim for you or not and whether the cost is worth it.

No one is holding a gun to your head forcing you to spend a load of cash. Apart from Sub fees iRacing can be as cheap or expensive as you chose it to be.

Quote from Crashgate3 :An excellent article by David Mitchell which sums up my opinion better than I ever could: http://www.guardian.co.uk/comm ... itchell-burqa-ban-tattoos

Great article. This passage summed my thoughts up exactly.

"Stupid people are thinking about an issue that doesn't need to be thought about and a YouGov survey says 67% of us want full-face veils outlawed. Just when I thought my estimation of humanity couldn't fall any further, I discover that two-thirds of my fellow countrymen are, or at least were for the duration of taking a survey, morons."

Quote from titanLS :Just fyi, the guy that coded the Lotus (Eric Hudec) said the power runs out at about 10,500.

Aha, thanks for the info. I was never sure about this car. 11,000 just felt right for shifting, and still does, though I might try a little earlier now and see if I gain a few 10ths.

The Lotus is superb now, and I have no idea how so many people are blowing engines.

Did 40 laps at Mid Ohio yesterday. Blew my engine once, first time leaving the pits. After that I didn't miss a gear or blow my engine once.

Turn off auto cluch/auto blip, lift and shift at 11,000rpm, blip on downshifts. Simple.

Love the transmission model. Love the fact that so many previously fast guys are having problems with it as well

Of course they should be allowed to wear what ever the bloody hell they like.

I'm still waiting for the retards that voted NO to post in the thread with a good explanation of why they shouldn't.

Quote from JasonL220 :really starting to get to grips with the lotus now pretty sure I'll run it next season

I'm going to run it for sure. I've fallen in love with it.

I only wish the races were all as long as the World Tour event. That was a proper race

No, you're still not getting it are you. Conversation over.

Quote from AMB :Lol @ 'Nub' bahaha and $5 seriously? That's like 2 pounds? seriously, I'll give you the money and you can go buy a pick a mix mate.

Are you a complete halfwit? (don't answer, I already know)

As he already said, it's not the money, it's the principal. Advertising prize races to get people in your session then not paying up, no matter how small the prize, is simply not on.

Quote from DeadWolfBones :Eh, Holland shoulda been down to 10 men for the majority of the match (de Jong). Both sides benefited from bad calls, but IMO the ref did a great job with a really rough match.

Holland should have had two players sent off in the first half, but the ref bottled it. That's not doing a good job. The two calls at the end were terrible to. The ref had a stinker, and as someone who sees a lot of Howard Webb it doesn't surprise me at all. Yes, both teams benefited, but you cant say he did a good job, he didnt.

Still, none the less the right team won. Not the team I wanted to win, but there's no doubt they deserved it.

Spain played the better football for sure, but that was a shit decision by the ref just before Spain scored. Holland should have had a free kick. 2 mins before that they had an obvious corner. Kind of soured the result for me.

Seeing Torres out injured again has ruined my night (as a Liverpool supporter)

Still, Spain probably deserved to win the cup on the tournament as a whole, but i'm left feeling a bit ..meh after all that.

Bring the subject up on the main iRacing forum. No need to name names, (it wont take much to work out who it was) Just get enough people talking about it and he may be shamed into paying up.

Quote from JasonL220 :i'm the historic gp, 6th fastest q so far, not bad since i've never raced it before

Great job Jason

I was on for improving my position by a fair margin, only to get caught in traffic twice in a row.

1 more attempt left.... Not at all happy with my performance. I really needed another couple of days with this car.

Ohh well, it'll probably all end in tears in T1 anyway

Quote from StableX :Still time for a last qualify attempt Stu!

Just concentrating on race pace now. 3 or 4 places further up the grid isn't going to make a whole lot of difference I think.

Quote from PMD9409 :Looking at the weather in your location, I call BS.

Don't know what forecast you're looking at, but it's currently 84.2 degrees in my room at the moment.

May not be that hot to you, but this is Britain we're talking about. A country when you usually have to wear three layers in the summer

I'll be sitting in a pool of sweat when this race has ended.
